Therapeutic Yoga is ideal for those living with chronic pain, limited mobility, or auto-immune conditions. This class is adapted according to the needs of each individual and is a mindfully based program which addresses health holistically; connecting to body, mind and heart. Core stabilization, relaxation techniques, functional breathing, and self-awareness are key components of every class. Students express feeling both empowered and more aware of how to advance their healing in their daily life as a result of their weekly Therapeutic Yoga sessions.

Therapeutic yoga classes are consciously constructed to assist students in identifying dysfunctional patterns that create dis-ease, while activating new patterns that establish freedom and resilience. This class is laced with playfulness while simultaneously addressing the very real challenges that those living with chronic conditions endure.

Breath & Body Break

“Starr is an excellent instructor, empowering her students to progress toward improved health and well being through her many years of therapeutic study and the practices of yoga. She is both thoughtful and kind as she guides her students with supportive instruction and educated, healthy fitness. Her "health and healing" and "breath and body break" sessions have been easy for me to integrate into my yoga practice and day-to- day life.”

Breath & Body Break
from $80.00

Pre-requisite: (4) Pause and Breathe classes with Starr, or prior experience with Buteyko breathing methods or Restore Your Prana training. Private virtual sessions also available to address specific conditions such as rhinitis, asthma, mouth breathing, and sleep pattern disorders. Private sessions also count as a pre-requisite.

Starr completed her advanced training live with Patrick McKeown, Director of the Buteyko Clinic in February 2020. In April 2020, Starr contracted COVID-19, and found the Buteyko breathing techniques, combined with her International Association of Yoga Therapist training, to be an integral part of her recovery, and quite possibly kept her out of the hospital. She is now mentoring Yoga Therapists, Yoga Teachers and health care providers in the Professional Certification Restore Your Prana Program, developed by Robin Rothenberg, author of Restoring Prana. Contact Starr for more information.

Virtual Therapeutic Essentials for Health and Well-Being

Fridays from 11:30am-1:00pm

A unique opportunity to work with two Yoga Therapists*, Sonia and Starr and discover how yoga can restore balance in the body, mind and heart.

The goal of this workshop is to provide students with adaptations to poses to meet the needs of each individual and build strength while allowing for a space of relaxation. You will be given tools to address your conditions, temporary or chronic, such as chronic pain/illness, insomnia, respiratory issues, anxiety and depression.

Starr is a Yoga Therapist* C-IAYT and Buteyko Breathing Educator who also offers breathing techniques to help with insomnia, anxiety, and support respiratory and immune health.

Sonia is a Yoga Therapist* C-IAYT and a non-dual renunciate practitioner who also offers guided meditations, self-inquiry, and insights to help foster self-love, deep connection and resilience.

*The yoga therapy components of the instructors teaching are based on their yoga therapy certification (C-IAYT) through the International Association of Yoga Therapists and not derived from their status as an RYT/ E-RYT with Yoga Alliance.

Pause and Breathe

1st and 4th Saturday every month 8 AM to 9 am on Zoom - starts in June

Respiratory fitness has always been important because how we breathe (or don’t breathe) impacts all the systems in our body (from our heart rate to our digestion) as well as all levels of our being (from the emotional to the spiritual). In this time of COVID respiratory fitness has become more important than ever. In this monthly class you will begin to pay more attention to how you breathe, learn what functional and dysfunctional breathing is, learn how to relax and engage muscles that support respiration, and begin practices that support optimal respiratory health.

This class is a pre-requisite for Starr’s Breath and Body Break class.
