My journey to becoming a yoga therapist began with a very compromised health condition, which included two spinal surgeries. Robin Rothenberg has been my teacher and mentor for the last 10 years - private therapeutic yoga sessions with Robin were the missing link in my healing. Our first session was calming my breath. It was a profound and unforgettable experience, and I left the session with hope. She skillfully guided me through prescriptive pranayama practices combined with asana, and the other limbs of ashtanga yoga to heal my body mind, and spirit. This experience led me to realize my dream of becoming a yoga therapist!
I received my 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training from Essential Yoga Therapy in 2015, as well as certification in the Essential Low Back Program, and Scoliosis for Back Pain. I recently became a Certified Yoga Therapist in 2020. I am also an Accredited Buteyko Breathing Educator and trained with Patrick McKeown, founder of the Buteyko Clinic.
I am committed to helping others find their way back to health through yoga therapy, and am experienced working with many conditions including musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, neurological, and respiratory. I have been teaching therapeutic yoga classes, and seeing clients privately for the last five years, while I was working toward my C-IAYT certification. I have additional training in trauma sensitive yoga, and worked with a health care team in a treatment setting to help patients integrate body, mind, and breath. I am very passionate about helping others who have lost their way due to chronic pain and suffering.
